GLANTA Ltd is a Trinity College Dublin spin-out company founded in Nov 2010 by experienced technology and healthcare entrepreneurs Gerard Lacey and Sean Bay to commercialise SureWash, an image processing technology to measure hand hygiene.
Gerry is a Senior Lecturer in Trinity College Dublin. He is a founder of Haptica Ltd where he was CEO (’00-’03) and CTO (’03-‘05). He led the development of the ProMIS surgical simulator and launched it onto the market. In mid-2005 Haptica signed a multi-year contract with the surgical division of Johnson & Johnson for the supply of ProMIS. In late-2005 Gerry returned to academia where he invented and patented the SureWash system. Gerry has a PhD in Computer Science from Trinity College and an MBA from UCD.
CEO & Company Secretary: Mary Leane
Mary is Chairman of the Gazette Group Newspapers and Company Secretary to St. Patrick’s Festival. She was a founder director of Aircoach and worked with Gerry in Haptica as CFO/Company Secretary from Sept 2004 until July 2012. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Mary has eighteen years of post-qualified experience in a range of industries including start-ups, large businesses and disposals. Mary has a BComm from UCD.
Seán has worked in both the technology and healthcare sectors. Initially with ENBA an internet banking operation based in Dublin, Seán then moved into Healthcare post the dot-com bubble operating residential care facilities for a number of years, before starting a business in the design and development of healthcare facilities. Seán has over 10 years management experience in the health sector having worked previously for the Blackrock Clinic managing patient information systems. Seán completed an MBA in Healthcare Management from UCD and has a wealth of experience in start-up operations, business development and process design.
